Just installed PD8 on my Mac Mini running Lion. VM is Win7 Home Premium (64 bit). I've got multiple problems and can't get help from tech support since I haven't upgraded my trial yet (which I won't do if I can't make this work). Quite a conundrum...

    1. No Menu Bar Icon:

No matter what I do in the configuration settings, I never get any type of Parallels icon in the menu bar. I've tried Coherence (on/off), Crystal Mode (on/off), all to no avail.

    2. No WIN Apps Folder:

There is no Windows application folder in my dock. Various changes in the configuration menu never brought it up.

    3. No Network:

This is a biggie. I can't get any network on my VM at all. I've tried both Shared and Bridged. The network works fine on my Mac, but I can't get anything on my VM. I've read the knowledge base article on network troubleshooting and tried every step. But, it did not work.

Is there anyone out there that has experienced a similar set of problems? I've searched and browsed the forums, but didn't find anything. I hope that I'm missing something simple here, but I just can't figure it out. Any help at all would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Seems like Parallels Tools are not installed, or incorrectly so.

Parallel tools are installed. I've tried reinstalling them as well from the menu bar, but after I click "Reinstall Parallel Tools," nothing happens.

Is there some way for me to find out if (and how) they are "incorrectly installed?"

    Thanks.

Uninstall them via Control Panel's Add/Remove.
