Host is running Lion and the latest build of Parallels 6. Guest is Windows 7/64 Pro.

If I try to use any numbers on the numeric keypad the Windows Start Menu pops up, instead.

I have read and tried the KB article about using the clear key for numlock. Doesn't work.

I have tried using the Parallels menu item for turning on numlock. Doesn't work.

I have tried mapping CTRL-ALT-N to the numlock function in the keyboard settings. Doesn't work.

I Have an Apple keyboard complete with numeric keypad (USB connected)..numeric pad in win7 with XL Ver 2010 also Ver2002 is all over the place..tried clear/numlock key ..yes that changes things but dose not fix the problem..Here are some numbers..0 then stops..123467895..the "5" gets ahead of the curser...I typed these numbers from the keypad.and you can see what the problem is.. in XL it will also jump boxes at the same time.. seems be all over the place.

    Hello Spinland,

Did you try the following step:
Click on Windows Start menu ==> Control panel ==> Ease of access center ==> Start On Screen Keyboard ==> Click on Num Lock
If you do not see the num lock, click on Options ==> Check the option "Turn on Numeric keys" ==> Click on Num Lock

    Thanks for your reply.
Yes, went through all the normal things and I am experienced with windows but nothing made any difference ..everything else was woking OK.. Parallels "Chat" had the solution it was a bad installation of Parallels 7. uninstalled and reinstalled Parallels and Win7 and now every thing works OK.
    So simple!
This is my first go with a Mac and I expected teething problems..However I am starting to get a handle on things. One of the best tips I have had so far from this forum is to get a copy of Noteboon's "Lion Tutorial" from the app store "all video" and it covers every aspect for newbies like me. Even me with my many years experience with pc's I am finding it totally different, I am finding most things but it is the many hidden depths to each function that is amazing me..It is certainly a new way at looking at computing an I am enjoying every minute.
    Thanks,
    ronpeck
