We're not hearing sound in Windows XP, even though all indications in both the Parallels configuration, Windows XP configuration and the Mac settings indicate that there should be sound playing from Windows. Everything looks good, right down to the activity dot blinking on the Parallels sound icon on the lower right display area. Any ideas?

    Here's the configuration:

All updates were applied today - 2/22/08 (Parallels, Parallels Tools, Mac OS 10.5.2)
    iMac 20" Core 2 Duo 2.16
    1gb ram
    Mac OS X 10.5.2
    Parallels desktop 3.0 (build 5584)
    Guest OS HD is 60gb.

Could memory be the culprit? I'm going toupgrade the 1gb to 4gb in a couple of days.

    Thanks

I have same problem. Checked Device Manager in XP and all OK. Uninstalled Parallels Tools and reinstalled after reboot - still no good.

Sound stopped working about 3 weeks ago - can't remember installing anything to change setup (might have been OSX 10.5.2 upgrade?).

I have 17" MBP 2.4GHz Intel Core Duo and OSX 10.5.2.

    Any comment from Parallels Team?

    My problem solved.

It was the /Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Device Properties/Sounds - reset Sound Scheme to Windows Default.

Seems that something modified/deleted the sound scheme.

    Me too, NO SOUND

I can't get the sound to work either. I've tried reseting to the default Windows (sound) scheme, restart, and no better.

I hope Parallels will issue an update to fix this problem. My configuration:

    PDv3
VM is Windows XP Pro transported from MS Virtual PC 7 on Mac
Mac OS X 10.5.2 on iMac 24" 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme with 4 GB RAM.

EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS GREAT! DVD/CD, USB Printer, Network...BUT NO SOUND!
