I've spent just over an hour looking for a resolution to this, but I have failed. If I'm missing something obvious, I am sorry. Please point me in the right direction. I am trying to access a USB device for which there is no mac software, and which is not recognized at all by my mac. When I open parallels, it does not appear under devices, or on the OS. Parallels also doesn't offer me the choice of where the device should be connected if I plug it in while it is running. I don't have a bootcamp partition, nor do I really want to go down that road. I will if it's the only way, but I'd rather avoid it. Any help?
I normally wouldn't just "top" a thread, but I could really use some help. Does anyone even know what I'm talking about here, or do I sound completely nuts?
Have you checked to verify that the device works on an actual Windows machine at least to verify that there is no issue with the device? Also, is this a bus powered device? Macs can be somewhat sensitive to USB devices that draw power right at the edge of the USB spec, especially if other USB devices are plugged in. If it is bus powered, try plugging it into a USB hub that has its own power supply and plug that into the Mac. I have used Parallels for many years and have never had issues with Parallels not picking up USB devices that are PC only.
