We have over 300 licensed installations of Parallels at our company, and on about 5 or 6 occasions I've come across this issue (Parallels 4.0 and 5.0) where the virtual machine will not boot anymore. Upon mounting the virtual machine (winxp.hdd) I notice that all files and folders whose names start with letters after "D" have simply vanished, (affecting NTDETECT, NTLDR, the Program Files, and Windows folders) while Documents and Settings, autoexec.bat, config.sys, and boot.ini and even are neatly preserved. For all I know, the users have done nothing on purpose to their machines. Although it looks like a virus, we have no definitive proof. It has only thus far affected a handful of users, and a virus (I think) would like to preserve itself and not delete the entire system folder. In all cases, "Share Windows volumes with Mac" was NEVER turned on, and users were not mounting the Has anyone else seen this?
