I just spent two days to discover that migration for OEM Windows (XP in my case) under PD is NOT possible.
This must be clearly stated on PD website with System Requirements.

I would really pay even more for PD if there was agreement with Microsoft to reactivate OEM versions migrated under PD or allow PD to clone motherboard binding.

This is a MS Windows license problem, Parallels can't do a thing about, MS would never allow anything like that, OEM licenses serve exactly to NOT allow machine cloning.

What you can do is get another license for XP and activate Windows with that.

I am afraid the only way to get XP license nowadays is to buy Windows 7 Pro and then downgrade to XP which is quite expensive way. There is another problem that you can not run upgrade installation over XP to keep your programs - only data can be migrated from XP to Win 7.

I am now trapped with my needful XP on my old laptop but was really in hope to get off with PD.

I understand that this is MS licensing policy and not PD problem.
I still think OEM topic must be clearly mentioned as limitation for PD migration with System Requirements.

You can try to buy a XP license on Amazon or eBay.
