OK so I'm running Parallels 9 with Windows 8.1 on OS X Mavericks, with a copy of Office 2013 as pretty much the only program I run in the Windows environment. Everything is up to date as of today. Office 2013 performance is something to be desired in this environment. I've turned off the hardware acceleration in Office itself, and have downgraded the performance options of Windows and Office 2013 does not run smoothly at all. I have to wait sometimes upwards to 10 seconds at a time when switching Exchange folders within Outlook. Excel lags sometimes and doesn't run smoothly. The problem is that I'm used to a certain level of performance that Office 2010 gave me in the same environment as it ran perfectly, and I couldn't tell that I was running a VM. It's painfully obvious that I'm running a VM with Office 2013. Any other suggestions other than what I've already said that I've done? p.s. I run a Macbook Pro Retina early 2013 version, so I have the specs.
Are you using Home & Student, Home & Business, or 365 for Office? I am also having issues with this combination. I just attempted to install Home & Student, but it is telling me "This app can't run on your PC."
