After upgrading to version 3, all Microsoft office documents on the host mac want to open in the version of MS Office installed in the Parallels image of XP even if no Parallels image is running. I know I can reset the default app on the Mac. My question is this a bug with v3 or a requested feature that I didn't know about?
See the discussion in this thread: http://forums.parallels.com/thread13037.html I believe somewhere (may be in another thread) a suggestion from Parallels Support that you can fix this by running PD 3 and doing "Reset Windows Applications", an item in the Applications menu at the top of the screen (in windowed screen mode). This happened to me with doc files but not xls or ppt: Weird! I believe Parallels Support has said they will make this not happen by default in a future PD 3 update. Most folks have commented that they don't like this "feature". It sure surprised me to have PD 3 stopped and by clicking on a Word file in OS X have it run PD 3 and open the file in Word 2003!
