Configuration: Build 3212 XP Pro Version 2002, SP2 Office Enterprise 2007 MBP 2.33Mh, 2Gb RAM I've got a folder (many subfolders) in my Mac's "Documents" folder shared with my VM. No problems for several months, but at some point in the last month my VM started struggling to open files from this shared folder -- I'll see a green status bar that reads "downloading [file name]" for maybe 3-10 seconds, then it disappears and another 3-10 seconds until the file opens on screen. It's a drag to have to wait through this, but should I be concerned that this mysterious change presages something worse? Also, Parallels load on cpu often spikes to between 40% and 100%. Cause for concern, or just that Parallels is a resource hog (understandably). Have others found that 3Gb on a MBP really improves performance with parallels?
Responds slowly I had a similar problem which was solved by using the procedure outlined in the knowledgebase: http://kb.parallels.com/entry/20/235/ This includes repairing disk permissions on the mac and clearing out some files. See if this helps
