    Could Parallels post here some hash fingerprint of the official 3186 image available from their web site, so that we can in confidence download from some non-official alternate mirrors?

    Some SHA-1, SHA-256 or the like. Thanks.

    I would like to see this as well. They have been very quiet today. I think most went home to sleep for a long time. :)

    We have posted the MD5 and SHA1 hashes for our mirror as these are the two that are easy to get from MacOS X, but it does little good without an official confirmation. We do have unofficial but independent confirmation fo the correct MD5 hash.

    I'm not aware of a way to get SHA256 from a default install of MacOS, but if you have a way to get it, it's:

    $ sha256 Parallels_Desktop_3186_Mac_en.dmg
    SHA256 (Parallels_Desktop_3186_Mac_en.dmg) = 4ba0fe4f47b69ef446dfc8d506b2d7a59fde5a428c4ff1a0715e8edadc77c9bd

    (Note: the board software is inserting a space in the SHA256 hash value.)

    I get
    MD5 (parallels desktop 3186 mac en.dmg) = 0a9d9d7e1140a34674528fabb931a5ed
    from the official release.

    Does the Mac come with a SHA256 fingerprint program?

    Not directly (I have installed a more recent OpenSSL build which offers it) though the Disk Utility offers such for disk images.
