I am having trouble with Parallels and hope that someone can help me out. I will try to be as clear as possible, if you need any additional information to correctly diagnose this issue, please let me know.

First, I have a Macbook (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM), running Mac OS X 10.5.7.

I had parallels running fine with Windows XP SP2. One day one of the games I had installed stopped running, i thought it might be due to auto updates on my XP, so i thought I would delete the VM and reinstall windows. When I tried to reinstall windows, i came across the error:

Are you sure you want to start the virtual machine? One or more kernel components loaded on your mac are from another version of Parallels Desktop. If you start the machine now, it may work incorrectly. To Solve this problem, restart your Mac. If the problem persists, reinstall Parallels Desktop.

So I restarted, that didn't work. Then I uninstalled Parallels and then reinstalled (Build 4.0.3844 [May 5, 2009]). I still get that same error. I have restarted and reinstalled still doesn't get rid of that error. When I press continue and ignore the error, it give the message:

Unable to start the virtual machine "Windows XP'. Parallels Desktop cannot allocate enough memory for running the virtual machine. Suspend or stop one or more of the virtual machines currently running on your Mac and try again. If the problem persists, contact the Parallels support team for assistance.

So I am unable to install XP again on parallels.

Will someone please help me troubleshoot this issue and get parallels running XP back up and running.

I sincerely thank you for your time and effort to help me resolve this issue.

    Jon
