    Hi,

I have a hard drive from a windows PC with Windows 7 on it. Can I connect the hard drive to my Mac via USB ( external case) and use Parallels 6 to create a VM using the hard drive's OS?

I don't want to get a whole new PC but do want to keep using Windows 7 on this hard drive.

    Thanks

    Dave

the only solution i see (in case you are not able to boot into this hard drive with any other hardware) is to connect your hard drive to mac, modify it as Boot Camp partition and import boot camp to Virtual Machine via Parallels.
You can find this wiki helpful http://guides.macrumors.com/Boot_Camp_Windows_XP_On_External_Drive
although we cannot guarantee this solution will work as it si not officially supported and all operations can be performed on your own risk
