Hi all, I've installed Parallels desktop and am trying to install Windows 7 OEM on my iMac. The problem is that the Windows installer wants a driver for the Optiarc DVD RW AD-5680H in my iMac the and I can't seem to find a driver anywhere - tried Sony / Optiarc, Apple, Microsoft. Can anyone help me?! Thanks in anticipation, Rob
What version of PDfM are you running? How much RAM assigned to VM? Generally this error caused by incomplete or damaged media. There are no additional drivers required for CD/DVD.
Hi Mmika, I'm trying to use PDfM Version 7 - I've just purchased it. I haven't got to the stage of allocating RAM to Virtual Memory unless I'm missing something. The installation of Parallels prompted me to insert the Windows 7 OS Disc which is a brand new out of the box copy (I bought the OEM version to save money). During the Windows install I get the dreaded message saying to locate the driver file for my Mac's DVD which the Windows installer won't let me skip. Thanks for the help, Rob
Ok! Please generate report a problem data right at that moment when you observe an error message shown by installer and share its ID here. You can follow to the instructions how to obtain ID here http://kb.parallels.com/en/9058
A problem report with the ID number 11316906 has been sent to Parallels to help us improve the product. Thank you for your feedback. Should I open a customer support ticket too? Thanks for your help so far, Rob
I suggest to set some of IDE locations for Virtual DVD instead of SATA 0:2. You can choose it in VM preferences, on CD/DVD configuration editor panel.
