I just read a post on Lifehacker.com about trimming Windows to the bare essentials. (http://tinyurl.com/274r4j) I use XP for Outlook and a 3D CAD program called Tekla Structures. I don't need all the other junk that comes with a XP install and would like to speed Parallels (and my Mac) up as much as possible. I used the XPlite program mentioned at the bottom of the article on my existing install and it gave me a noticeable boost on the startup and shutdown times. While XPlite gave me a boost I believe that a clean custom install, using nLite, will give a greater increase. Has anyone used nLite for their Parallels instillation? Is there anything specific I need to leave in for Parallels?
