I am stumped and looking for some help. I have version 3170, install windows xp no problem, once that all is done, i am in windows, doing software updates etc. As soon as I shut down and turn off paralles and then restart, i get the OS installation assistant wanting to install windows all over again! I can't get past this screeen after spending 30 minutes installing windows?! It wants to start all over again. I unistalled, reinstalled, deleted anything to do w/ parallels/windows xp, reinstalled fresh, etc nothing helps. What am i doing wrong? Macbook 1.83 Intel Core Duo machine. Thanks!!!!!
I have not experienced this but i installed under an older build in a traditional way try the latest build of Parallels and install manually then the Parallels Tools after a reboot Hugh W
Thank you but nto sure i follow. I can try an older build, but what is installing manually mean? And what does parallels tool do?
I mean just like building a new windows machine with an OEM installation Install Parallels create a new VM - not too big 500 to 750 mb or parellels defaults about 6 gb vm hard drive install WinXP (leave Vista to the "heroes" install Parallels Tools parallels tools is essential to provide drivers to integrate the mouse for example Install windows good house keeping tools ante virus apps eg firefox irfanview google pack ante spyware etc clone the windows VM as a back up then do some work Hugh W
THanks but still no luck and works on my macbook pro machine no problem. Only thing i can think of is i initially had boot camp on this machine but unistalled it, only want parallels, can that be conflicting? Why would parallels want to install windows EVERY TIME i open it? It doesnt save windows???
