    Just to throw this out there, in case anyone else has the same issue . . .

    I upgraded to Parallels 4, app upgrade went smoothly. When trying to start my first VM, it said it was updating the VM, acted like it finished(no errors), but subsequently VM wouldn't start. No errors, screen would change for 1 second then go back. parallels.log showed a bunch of errors, looked like hardware virtualization errors(see bottom of post). I tried creating a new VM and got an application error stating that hardware virtualization was disabled and to try restarting.

    Rebooted, went in to BIOS and found that I had disabled intel CPU virtualization monitor options, probably while troubleshooting OS X86 install. I re-enabled this and all is working fine.
