PSA: The USA DST dates are changing in 2007 and this will require patching your operating system. This may affect you even if you are not in the USA thanks to Java-enabled web apps. This is a good time to plan your strategies for patching and maintaining VM's for the 2007 DST changes in March. All the OS vendors have provided patches - Java also needs to be patched/upgraded. This will pretty much obsolete your existing archived virtual machines, so you would be wise to make copies of your patched VMs for recovery purposes. Google is your friend.
Useful reminder. Thanks. For folks using Windows 2000, note that Microsoft is not providing a patch, but there is a utility in the resource kit, TZEDIT.EXE that will allow editing of the DST dates. Resource kit files can be downloaded from the MS site. Google will find it. The new range is from the second Sunday in March through the first Sunday in November.
