Over the Network Transfer not working

Trying ti transfer my Windows 8 machine over to my new Mac using the over network option. I get all the way to the transfer in progress screen on my PC and the status bar on my Mac.....

And this is where it is will stay. No progress at all, no transfer. I set it up to transfer over night, both firewalls are down, and hibernation turned off. Still nothing. Really hope someone can help or I may have to return the Mac. Need to be able to run Tight VNC from home in order to comm with systems at my job.
