I have an imac with windows 7 installed and I had parallels 7 but upgraded to parallels a few months ago.

All seemed to work till about 2 weeks ago the pc side of things kept acting up when my daughter who is 13 was on it, she said the computer said something about parallels something needed to be removed and she clicked ok.

Well now I have no sound (on the windows side only) and I ran a bunch of spyware and virus programs trying to see if I had a virus or anything (nothing appeared other than tracking cookies), but I think somehow my parallels was effected or something was removed mainly due to the sound issue and her clicking yes to removing somethig parallels related.

So where or how do I check on the windows side of things to see what was removed?

When i start the mac I still have the parallels windows start up that seems to work ok just the windows side has some new issues and no sound which i can't seem to identify any virus or spyware (spybot, malawayres, superantispyware, avast, housecall all run full updated scans and end clear).

The thing that gets me is her telling me something that said parallels was being removed and she clicked ok ughhhhhhh i wish I knew what happened.

She removed Parallels Tools, you'll have to reinstall them, follow the first link on my signature, just the part about reinstalling Parallels Tools.

I followed the steps to reinstall parallel tools restarted the machine but still no sound, when I hover the sound icon it says "no Audio Output Device Is Installed", if I click the sound icon it just says "Detecting Problems Hardware Changes might not have been detected" and there is just a red x over sound icon itself.

I went back to the mac side under parallels configure then hardware/sound I see it shows checked as enable, and default device for input and output, I go back to windows side check device manager shows parallel sound device working properly no conflicts, if i choose playback device i only see parallels audio controller it is enabled, I was reading about win7 no sound card detected and it said check the bios but I can't figure out how to enter the bios via this virtual machine win7 using parallels etc.

Gave all that a shot but no luck, I ended up noticing a few other windows related issues so I did a reload of the windows files as an upgrade (so i didn't lose my programs etc) worked like a charm instantly had sound once it was done. So this had to be something funky on the windows side of things once I had loaded paralells tools and still had the problem I had a pretty good feeling it was something corrupted on the windows side of things since a few other areas were acting weird as well.
