Probably a stupid question but how does one know when Parallel Tools is installed? Is there an icon in the tray like in PD3? I ask only becaseu out of frustration I created a new VM, ran the new VM Wizard, re-installed, XP, installed Tools (I thought) but no icon, nothing in Programs as installed Parallel Tools, nothing.....very frustrated as I couldn't get this to work in the upgrade and now in the new VM. Argh!!!

Question is OK, for now there is no icon for Parallels Tools Center inside VM
Just use net start in Windows command console and check is there Parallels services, if yes, it is there..

    John,

I'm sorry I understand there is no icon. but I'm not sure what you mean by "Net start in windows command". I did use command console "run" then "msconfig" and checked services. I have "Parallels Coherence Service and Parallels Tools Service" are both "running" which I assume means that PD Tools is installed?

I think I might have had it installed all these many times and never knew, as this is the first time I have heard there is no icon for Parallel Tools anymore and I guess other then something at the end that said it failed, I was always expecting to see the icon. When I didn't I thought it had failed.

Thanks for your help. I'm sure it wont' be the last time I need it.

    In Windows
Click Start -Run - type cmd
    in Windows console type command
    net start

    or
    more easier way
    Start - Run - type
    services.msc
look for Parallels in services name
