running yosemite with 16gb of ram on a 2011 Macbook pro 2.3 I7 and windows after about of five minutes of being on goes from about 8 gb of ram and maxes out to 16gb being used Per Activity monitor in OSX. Never use to do this I have 12GB accessable to windows 7 and 4 CPUs in config. I run intensive 3D Modeling and 3D scanning software. Everything runs fine. But my CPU fan is on Constantly and never use to be and computer in general seems to run a lot hotter. If I close out just windows not parallels and ram drops back down to 4gb. Please help. I only use windows 7 for cad. I do nothing else on it never open a internet browser as I don't want problems like this. Start up has 5 items on it. a 3d mouse driver, and four autodesk start up utilities.
Hello Oetjenj, Please try creating empty virtual machine and transfer existing virtual machine to empty one by following steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/121578 and also refer to http://kb.parallels.com/122485 to configure the maximum possible video performance.
Thank you for your help i did both tasks and RAM still steadily rises till it maxes out. 15.6 GB It did take longer this time though. about 15 min Litterally all I do is launch windows 7 VM and surf OSX i close vm ram drops back down to 4 GB instantly.
