My current setup: Late 2013 15" MBPR w/ discrete graphics , 16 gigs ram, plenty of hard drive space. OSX 10.11 Parallels 11 and a windows 10 boot camp VM In the VM I usually have solidworks and Solidworks EPDM open and running, though this happens even when they're not running. When I close my macbook or let my computer go to sleep and then resume it becomes almost 100% unresponsive. Just waiting for the login screen to change from black to the picture and letting me type my name takes minutes. Once logged in I basically can't interact with the system at all. If I can manage to force quit the VM (often a 10-20 minute process) things go mostly back to normal. Usually I just power cycle the computer. Any ideas what is happening here? Any settings I should look at? Since I'm usually bouncing around my office which involves closing and sleeping my laptop which means my VM is pretty unusable at the moment without risking a power cycle. Thank you for any help!
Hello IanF2, Please try steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/121578 and let us know if this article helped in resolving the issue.
Thank you for the reply Manu. I think I followed the steps in that guide correctly, but the new virtual machine I have created hangs on the first boot screen: As far as I can tell the settings are identical between the old and the new virtual machine. I tried with .hdd file both in the old virtual machine pvm archive file and copied over into the new pvm archive file. Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?
