I just upgraded my iMac Late 2009 (i7 230 8gb ram) to Parallels 12 and Sierra.
I had just rebuilt my OS from upgrading my HD. But when i had everything installed i could not run 3DS Max under Parallels.. something with the Direct x and possibly other errors made it crash. So i decided to upgrade to Sierra and Parallels 12.
Funny thing is that now 3DS Max works.. Yea.. but it is very slow to open up Parallels.. minutes of just blank screen. Is this normal? It did not used to be like that? The performance while it is open i have not tested much yet. It seemed ok at first glance.
    Thanks

Ok so 3DS Max is still having issues.. I was able to open it but it crashes if i try to set it up as a render slave.. But this does not follow the title for this post.. I might open another one or do some searching for issues with 3ds Max.
