When running Windows 10 under Parallels version 12.1.3 (41532), the Parallels Tools display drivers (when set to DirectX 10 mode) are advertising DirectX 12 support (according to dxdiag), when they are actually only DirectX 10 capable . This appears to cause several applications to fail (i.e. blank output when drawing DirectX output). The easiest way to test this is with Xbox One Streaming from the Xbox application in Windows 10. When you connect to an Xbox One and "Start Streaming" you will not get any output when in Parallels DirectX 10 mode. Unfortunately there is no good workaround because all other graphics modes in Parallels are unusably slow.
Hi KristoferS, we understand your concern here. Though the current version of Parallels Desktop does not support DirectX 11, our Development team is working towards a possibility to support DirectX 11 in future versions of Parallels Desktop. You could subscribe to our newsletter to get the updates.
I wasn't asking that. I was notifying you that there is a bug in the latest Parallels tools that is incorrectly advertising DirectX 12 support when really only DirectX 10 is supported by the driver. Because of this the Xbox streaming does not work.
Hi, if dxdiag says you are running DirectX 12 then it means the 3D acceleration is actually disabled for your VM. Please ensure the 3D acceleration option is checked in Display/Graphics Settings of your VM. Parallels Tools is the driver software and it has DirectX 10.
