I just installed P13, and am trying to install 10.12 in a new VM. I have the .DMG file direct from Apple. Parallels will not recognize the .DMG version, but allows me to continue anyway. Then it stalls out, telling me there is no operating system in the VM! Well, yeah...that's what I'm trying to create here...

So I extracted the .app install file from the .pgk in the .dmg. I thought since Parallels automatically recognized a .app install file for 10.8 in my Applications folder that that would work. No love. I cannot choose the .app file as a disk image.

So I tried to install 10.8 from the .app listed since Parallels automatically recognized it. Still no. Same error message.

Looked around the net for answers - somebody suggested installing from Recovery to the VM. Tried. Have to have internet so Apple can sniff my "machine" in order for that to complete. Can't see a way around that. (Can I say I hate Apple here?) My work hardware is isolated from the internet, and that cannot change. (Had to almost get a court order to get my boss to allow me to connect to "activate" the %$#$ Parallels in the first place. (Parallels evidently used to let you use a challenge and response activation - what happened to that?))

So I now have exactly nothing to show for an afternoon of work. Please tell me I'm missing something stupid. I'll gladly admit my cluelessness if I can get this to load and be on my way.

    Thanks for your help.
