I am having trouble installing Windows 98 (or 98SE) on my Mac running Parallels 3.0 (buld 4560).

When I run the Win98 installation from CD I come to a screen that says "Setup will restart your computer now. Please make sure Windows 98 Boot Disk is in drive A. To continue, press ENTER.". I press enter and the VM attempts to restart but fails to find a boot device. I don't have a Windows 98 Boot Disk or even a floppy drive.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks,
    - Tim.

    Tim,

The only thing you are doing wrong is attempting to make sense of the convoluted and confusing Parallels "method" of installing 98. Try searching for "install Windows 98" in these forums and you will see what I mean.

If you haven't tried these steps, what happens when you do?

I managed to get it working with the help of this post and the use of the freedos.fdd disk image found in that post.
