How can I tell which Windows files my parallels install is using?

I installed Parallels 3.0 (the build before 4560) as a clean install on my empty and new Mac mini running Boot Camp 1.3. Everything went smooth as silk. The install took no time at all. Everything worked first time. Programs installed without a problem. So I decided to install it on a new MacBook.

Because this was to replace an Intel iMac (which had been running Parallels 2.0) I used Migration Assistant as part of the MacBook setup procedure, so all the user files, apps and settings were copied across to the MacBook from the iMac. As I had never done this before and it said I should try to run various apps to see which ones still worked, I also tried Parallels, which not surprisingly didn't (no Boot Camp partition to work from, no activation).

So, there being no uninstall option I deleted the Parallels folder in Applications and in Library and did a "clean" install.

I installed Boot Camp 1.4 (a little buggy it seems, I still have no Boot Camp control panel on the Windows partition). I then installed Win XP Pro on Boot Camp.

Next, I downloaded Parallels 3.0 build 4560 and installed that, which took about 2 minutes with me having to click NO options - strange, I thought.

You can imagine my surprise when on running Parallels for the first time, I was given the choice of two VMs - Microsoft XP Professional or Windows XP Pro.

I opened up a copy of a fully installed Win XP Pro with loads of programs already there - which shouldn't be there because the only Windows files on the machine were in the Boot Camp partition and that only had the Windows files in it and I had not yet installed any programs myself!

Where is Parallels getting the information from about the old setup? How can I ensure I start from a clean slate? How can I totally uninstall Parallels so I can start again?

In the wait for help I've installed VMware. It has a great feature called Unity that is very impressive. But it's Network controls are not so comprehensive. So I'd still be interested in finding out the answer to my question...

    TIA

Didja try looking at the folder "~/Documents/Parallels/$INSERT_CONFIG/Windows Applications" and seeing if the apps still show up there? If they do, delete the ones that no longer exist and see if that helps.
