I am trying to uninstall Parallels 4.0 from my Mac (Snow Leopard). I have the original disk and selected uninstall. I get the response, "Uninstall Failed! The Parallels Desktop is not installed." Of course, it *is* installed and I can rev it up and use it just fine. I tried rebooting and using the Desk Utility to repair disk permissions but that didn't help. Any ideas?
I had the same problem Hello, I had the same problem, i had so many duplicate files that when i put in the disk it wouldn't uninstall. So i did a spotlight search of Parallels and did a manual uninstall (dragged to trash). Try this out.
Answering my own question... There is a How To here: http://www.run-windows-on-mac.com-h...ls-desktop-without-the-installation-disk.html
The results I did the steps from the site I mentioned before, and the ones listed here: http://kb.parallels.com/en/5714. I used spotlight like RachelM suggested. And even after that my DiskSweeper said I had 14.9 GB of Parallels left. It found a folder in the Library and I trashed that and *now* I think I have gotten it all off my computer.
