I've just upgraded to v5, everything went smoothly. Then I decreased the virtual HDD from 32GB to 12GB, figuring that I'd get an error message if the actual data on that image was more than 12GB. I then used the "compress" button, which claimed to reduce the disk size from 12GB to 9.6GB. Well, I pressed that button again and now I have an empty disk... just about 715kb and WinXP won't start. I might have been stupid just pressing buttons, but how can it be these features actually destroy a working volume?
Hi, pixeldude An error report for the killed VM may help us to understand problem. In any case I have some questions: 1. Have you got a backup of your disk? If you have, could you try to reproduce the error, generate the report (after the reproduction) and post here the report number. 2. How many volumes are placed on virtual disk? Please, provide the disk structure (within guest OS) if possible. 3. How many files with .hds and .hdd extensions are placed in the hdd bundle?
