    Hi there,

I have some troubles with Parallels 5 on my Mac using Windows XP SP3 als guest. I'm using Parallels under MacOS 10.6.4. Maybe you can help me.

    a) Everytime I start my virtual machine, it will start in coherence mode, regardless what I had set up in the preference pane. (Well, most of the time I suspend my VM to standby. But when I suspend it while using the window mode, it will chance to coherence after I wake it up again. In preference pane I tried to use "last setting" as well as set it fox to windowed - doesn't matter).

    b) Sometimes, after using the VM a while, the fan of my MacBook Pro rotates at maximum speed. But the CPU load is round about 10%. After closing Parallels, the fan is quiet after a while (30 seconds or something like that). Restarting Parallels will power up the fan to max again.

    c) I switch my Spaces in MacOS using cmd+number. This also works with Parallels running, but sometimes the start-menu of Windows will be shown on the new spaces desktop. This prevents MacOS from activating the application on that space. (e.g.: Parallels is running on space #2, Word for Mac ond Space #1. I', currently working inside a Windows app and want to switch to word by pressing cmd+1. Then MacOS switches to that desktop and immediately the start-menu from Windows XP is show above Word, so that I first have to click inside my Word app.). I tried to disable the cmd-button to bring up the start-menu inside the Parallels settings, but this doesn't change anything!

I hope you have some ideas to help me out.

BTW, sorry for my bad english. My english-teacher in germany told me to learn more vocabularies, and he really was right. ;)
