Hi, I have Parallels 6 running under Mac OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and a Windows XP Pro VM that is running perfectly. I now need to upgrade to Parallels 8 ahead of updating the OS to Mountain Lion. Does anyone have any experience of this particular upgrade path? I am extremely anxious not to break the XP Pro VM or begin a re-activation process. Thanks in advance, Pete
Why should anything break? Parallels is just an application like any other. Update to ML and then update to Parallels 8 after fully shutting down your VM. When you start the VM in Parallels 8, you'll have to install new Parallels tools, but that's it. Steve
Parallels 8 upgrade Hi Steve, Thanks for this. Normally, I would completely agree with you, but 've read other users problems with Windows activation problems following Parallels update, albeit earlier versions like 5 to 6, etc. As a product expert have you not heard of these problems? I did come across several threads on this forum a while back. Also, will Parallels 8 run okay under Snow Leopard prior to the ML upgrade? I would prefer to do it in that order if possible. Thanks again, Pete
