Is it possible to set up Parallels 7 to run an existing Windows 7 that is already installed on an external drive? The drive will be removed from an operational PC.
I would just like to leave the Windows intact, but have Parallels access it via the external drive.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately, if it is not a vm the short answer would be no.
You do have several options: you could migrate it to a vm this is a knowledge base article about migration/transfer: http://kb.parallels.com/en/115007

If your goal is to run a VM from an external drive you can do that.
