Parallels 9, Mavericks, Bridged Networking... Works to host only for some reason

    Hi all,

I have two OS-X Servers as guests in two VMs with an OS-X Server host. They both used bridged networking to en0.

Under Parallels 8 and Mountain Lion, they worked perfectly.

Now, with Mavericks and Parallels 9, they don't.

The host is the DHCP server for my network, and the clients use DHCP.

They get addresses (the ones I set manually in the DHCP server) and can ping the host with no issues. However, they cannot ping anything else on the network nor can anything ping them (though somehow they still show up in the list of Servers in the Finder). The clients also cannot access the internet (which makes sense if they can't ping the router).

I have the OS-X Firewall off because I use pf for more advanced control. As a test, I disabled pf using 'pfctl -d' and that still did not allow connections.

One client is set up to 'isolate Mac from virtual machine' but the other is not (though that shouldn't matter much with bridged networking).

I am at a complete loss for what's wrong here! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    More information:

All of the sudden, it started working. Then, all of the sudden, it stopped.

Can nobody get bridging to actually work? VMWare is crap. Parallels is crap. What the heck?

    Solved:

Apparently, Parallels actually starting using OS-X's native bridge adapters, which I was using assuming I was the only one using them.

So my stuff create bridge0 (by name) and, for whatever reason, failed, and during cleanup destroyed the bridge. Parallels also relied on bridge0, and it died.

    Curiously, it's working...... even though bridge0 doesn't contain en0. I'm very confused.

Until I started another VM and set it to bridge to the same thing. Then they all stopped working.
