Parallels 9 with Windows 8 cannot connect to internet

I am running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (not 8.1) under Parallels Build 9.0.23062 on Mac OSX 10.8.5 (Retina MBP). I have been using Parallels for a while successfully with internet. I have no idea what changed but for the last week and change I have not been able to connect to the internet.

I have reinstalled parallels tools several times, I have made sure the Virtual Machine List->Hardware->Network 1 is set to "Connected" and have tried Shared Network (as well as all the other options). My Mac does have a working internet connection. None of this things worked.

I have also gone into Windows and uninstalled and reinstalled the Networking Adapter as per http://kb.parallels.com/en/8865 Please note I do have yellow exclamation points next to lots of the Network adapters in that list (see screenshot) but Windows does not allow uninstallation of some of them (WAN Miniports and ISATAP Adapter).

Please assist! I cannot work without this fixed.
