parallels and partitions

greetings, i'm new here... i searched the site and the forum and read a number of articles. but didn't find what i was looking for...

i looking for information on what i need to know about using parallels on a partitioned macbook pro... i normally keep my mac partitioned into 2 volumes: root and user... can someone point me to any information about how to plan to install parallels on a partitioned mac? i'll this is for a new macbook pro, 10.5.2... i'll be installing parallels to use some somewhat obscure windoz software...
