Okay, this is a STRANGE one. I've been running Parallels since it was first released without a problem. I recently upgraded to Leopard, after which I was unable to boot into Bootcamp any more -- I got some message about certain files being missing and that Windows had to be reinstalled. No problem, I think. So last night I reformatted the Windows partition to NTFS, reinstalled XP, and everything seemed to go just like clockwork. Then, however, I booted back into Leopard. And my documents folder is empty. Completely, totally empty. I went into the folder via the terminal, and did an "ls -la" and there's nothing hidden in there. Now, here's the really strange thing. In addition to the Boot Camp partition, I also had a standard .hdd file containing Vista. This was in the documents folder. Last night I launched Parallels and chose the Vista partition, and it booted without a problem. The thing is, when I search for ".hdd" no files show up. In other words, I'm able to boot into a Vista virtual hard drive that doesn't exist anywhere on my system. Anyone got any ideas on this one? I'm pretty tech savvy but this one has me totally stumped. And worried, somce it's been a couple of weeks since I last backed up. I know, I know, I'm a moron. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.
