    Hi everyone,

This version has given me a bit of trouble. I would like to learn whether other users had the same experience. I am currently using 2 virtual machines in a regular manner.

    Windows XP

This VM was converted from Microsoft (formerly Connectix) Virtual PC. I had been working nicely and smoothly until I installed Build 11992. When I tried to install the new Parallels Tools, the installation failed and was rolled back. After the restart, no Parallels Tools were there, neither the current, nor the previous version.

After installing the new Tools once again, the system is kind of usable for the most part. But Cinebench crashes. And Coherence mode does not work any more. When I try to switch to Coherence mode I keep getting an error message saying that Parallels mouse synchronization has not been started and that I should reinstall Parallels Tools once again.

I have tried reinstalling the Tools a couple of times, sometimes installing them on top of the installed version sometimes after uninstalling the existing Tools. This has not made anything better, on the contrary, after a couple of attempts the mouse pointer was trapped inside the VM window and could only be freed by holding Ctrl and Alt. I reverted to a previous configuration. The issues remain unresolved.

    Ubuntu 10.10

This VM had been created in a previous version of Parallels Desktop 6. Tools had been installed, and the VM was running nicely and smoothly. After upgrading to Build 11992 the system was so badly broken, it would not do anything any more. There was no way to interact with it. So I had to reinstall Ubuntu 10.10 from scratch in a new VM. Things appear to be working fine since. Luckily, there was no valuable data in the VM I lost.

Comments, hints and other experience welcomed.

    Regards,
    ME
