Parallels desktop and vmware disk images

Is it possible to use/convert a vmware disk image for use with parallels desktop?

No. Parallels has mentioned that are working on something like this, but they have given no timeframe.

 

So I guess the only solution would be to ghost it over then

Since the VMWare and Parallels emulated platforms are very different, I wouldn't expect it to work, but if it does, by all means let us know.
