We originally created an Autodeploy.pkg (version 1.0.0, I believe) to deploy older builds of PD9 with a VM included. It worked fine, as it did with PD8. However, we needed to deploy the latest builds of PD9 required for OS X 10.9.5 to work properly. Dropping the DMG of the latest build of PD9 (9.0.24251.1052177) into our existing Autodeploy.pkg did not work; the package wound not install properly.

Your Mass Deployment guides say to download the Autodeploy.pkg using this URL (http://download.parallels.com/desktop/tools/pd-autodeploy.zip), which now comes with version 1.2.2 of the Autodeploy.pkg. This version worked with the latest build of PD9 to install the application properly, but now we're seeing other issues.

As mentioned, the package contains a VM. The Autodeploy.pkg creates the /Users/username/Documents/Parallels folder before it copies the VM to it. However, that /Users/username/Documents/Parallels folder has its permissions set as owned by System (root), rather than the user. This prevents the user from renaming the VM, and causes other issues.

(If I leave the VM out of the Autodeploy.pkg, then the /Users/username/Documents/Parallels folder is created on first launch of PD9 and has the proper permissions, owned by the user.)

Your most recent Mass Deployment guide (http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v10/docs/en_US/Parallels Desktop Enterprise for IT Administrators.pdf) says "Build 10.0.0-27675 or later" on the front page, so does that mean Autodeploy.pkg 1.2.2 should not be used with PD9? If that's the case, what version is compatible with the latest build of PD9, and how do we download it if the URL just always downloads the latest version of the Autodeploy.pkg.

[Edit: Apparently, I cannot type a tilde in the post or else it warns me "English only, please." The file paths above were originally written tilde/Documents/Parallels but it wouldn't let me post with the tildes in the post...]

I just built a new Autodeploy.pkg using the latest PD10 build DMG and included a newly created .pvm file. The /Users/username/Documents/Parallels folder that the Autodeploy.pkg creates is still owned by System (root) and causing issues, so it is not an issue with the version of Parallels Desktop, but seems to be an issue with whatever script the Autodeploy.pkg 1.2.2 uses to create the Parallels folder.* I can of course change the ownership of the folder after the fact, but that is cumbersome. For now, I am instructing my technicians to manually create the /Users/username/Documents/Parallels folder before running the Autodeploy.pkg.

*The strange thing is if I configure the Autodeploy.pkg to put the VM in a custom location, it still creates the /Users/username/Documents/Parallels folder, even if it's not putting the VM in that folder. Stranger still, it creates the folder with the correct permissions!
