"The Application Parallels Desktop quit unexpectedly."

Forever. I tried following the directings on
Problems when installing or Running Parallels Desktop.

A few times. Uninstall, reinstall, and ....it quits without opening.

    Is there hope for me?

    I sure hope so...

I don't have an answer for you. I'm in the midst of the same issue. Any experts out there to help us newbies out?

    Memory problem???

I'm new to MacWorld and Parallels. When I first installed Parallels, it was very flakey and after a couple of installation attempts, I finally got Windows Vista running. At this point, I had 1 GB of system memory.

I then upgraded the memory to 4 GB and Parallels/Windows Vista has been very stable. I might add that I upped the Parallels memory to 1 GB from the default installation of 512 MB.

From my experience, the memory upgrade seemed to really make a big difference.

OK, thanks all. I found my answer in another thread. I downloaded the most recent build (5584) from the website, uninstalled Parallels and reinstalled with the new version. From a quick run through, it appears to be running smoothly.

I have much to learn about how to make the best use of Parallels.
    Blessings,
    DF
