Hi there - I hope you can help me. I am not tech savvy so forgive me if I don't have the right descriptions for everything here! I have a first gen Macbook Pro running 10.6.2 Snow Leopard on a Core Duo. Since loading up SL I have had issues with with Parallels 4.0 and 5.0. I am on the latest update. If the VM has been closed and I use SmartSelect to open a Microsoft Office document Parallels will 'initiate' the VM and it will then state that it is removing Applications from the dock and the VM will not open. A few seconds later a new VM appears with the name Windows XP (1) and it says registering Windows XP and seems to build a whole new VM. When the Office application starts it will state, Opening application for the first time and I end up with a whole new VM. Everything seems to work, it does not ask me to reinstall Parallels Tools and if I check it states that they are up to date. In a single day I went from Windows XP to Windows XP (1) (1) (1)!!! I never had this with 3.0 which was solid as a rock. From memory I think it is only since moving to Snow Leopard and definately a feature since 4.0 and now 5.0. If you can help a klutz it would be most welcome!
