I finally got around to installing the Parallels Internet Security software, in the hopes that it would be less intrusive than AVG. It is certainly that---which is a plus.

For grins, I thought I would see how long it would take to scan my virtual harddrive.

In 4 days (more accurately, 3d 22h), it has scanned a whopping total of 42000 files, and is nowhere near done with its scan. My mac mini never sleeps, so there is no problem with the Mac side shutting things down. My screen saver is disabled on the Windows side, also.

Even though I have the 'Concede resources to other applications' unchecked, its process (which I'm guessing is avp.exe) uses almost no CPU. While this is great from the non-intrusive side, it doesn't seem to be the proper behavior.

Any ideas what is going on?

    Setup:
Mac Mini Core 2 duo w/ 2GB RAM of which 1GB is allocated to the VM. Adaptive Hypervisor unchecked, and optimization set to run the VM at full speed. VM installed on external FW400 hard drive.
