It is Host Only Networking, please switch to Shared Networking from VM window - Configure - Network Adapter 1
About Parallels shows version 4.0.3810 (December 30, 2008) Have changed Configuration ->VM Network Adaptor 1 to "shared networking, still unable to connect to the internet. Also have removed all known internet security programs. What can I try next?

Mac OS configuration is OK, Try to remove parallels Internet security temporary, or install firefox, check can you access internet without PIS, or with firefox
removed PIS and Parallels tools. Was able to connect with internet thru Firefox. reinstalled Parallels tools. Still o.k. Should I reinstall PIS now?
