Strange. I have only seen this happen AFTER running Parallels, and then exiting the application. Often then when starting up Garage Band, it will bomb out, reporting such things as incompatible drivers, inability to initialize MIDI subsystem, etc. Ultimately Garage Band will crash, if it does actually get to loading the project. It looks like Parallels is leaving the sound stuff on the Mac in a really bad state.
