Hiya - I am facing a problem where I cannot get internet access on my copy of Parallels. While I can see my router, I cannot resolve or access remote IP addresses and URLs. I am running Parallels 3.0 build 5582. The system is MacOS X Tiger 10.4.10 on a Mac Pro. I currently have Bridged Networking selected, with Default Adapter picked. My internet sharing is enabled with no firewall. Only Ethernet Adaptor (en2) is picked. I am connected to the internet via ethernet to a router that handles all connectivity. ipconfig in the emulated Windows returns the proper gateway IP and a good IP for the emulated machine (means it can see the router and DHCP I guess). Would appriciate assistance in solving this issue.
Can you ping either of the IPs that show up as a Parallels Adapter under your OS X system preferences from your Windows VM?
Both the gateway (192.168.0.1) and the parallels Adapter (192.168.0.171) reply to pings sent from MacOS X's terminal. Pings sent from the Windows cmd window to the gateway time out. Pings sent from the Windows cmd window to the real Macintosh (192.168.0.134) are successful.
Question: Does Shared Networking work? Suggestion 1: Try re-installing Parallels Tools. Suggestion 2: Try re-installing the Parallels Application.
Shared networking does not work - I do not even get an IP. If I use the provided Uninstall program for Parallels, will it keep my virtual hard drives or will the images be erased during the uninstall?
