When I attempt to open files stored on the Mac in my Windows applications, the application will hang for 15-20 seconds before opening the file. To quickly summarize the exact problem: * Parallels maps Z:\ to \\psf\Home * Any time a file is opened via \\psf\Home the application hangs for 15-20 seconds. (Files are always opened via this path when I double-click them in Finder.) I can reproduce the problem by closing the file and re-opening it via the application's recent documents menu. * The same file can be opened from within Windows via the Z:\ network drive and the problem never occurs. * If I browse \\psf\Home using Windows Explorer, I get a 15-20 second hang. * If I browse the Z:\ network drive, Windows Explorer never hangs. My configuration: Mac OS X 10.5.8 Windows XP SP3 with latest updates Parallels Build 6.0.11992 Other pertinent info: * Disabling/re-enabling all Sharing options in my virtual machine configuration had no effect. * Disabling Windows and Mac OS X firewalls had no effect. * I do have a 127.0.0.1 .psf entry in my Windows hosts file. * Uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels Tools had no effect. Please help! Thanks, Bryan
