Is it possible to get two users to be able to share data between virtual machines? What I need to do is to get two Sage Accounts users to log into the same data file. So ideally I need to be able to log into a shared folder on the Windows desktop of one machine from the Windows system on another machine. One other option for me, if that isn't possible, is to host the folder on a Snow Leopard server and then get both of the Windows machines to see it on the network... I presume that would be easy enough to do... never done that before either!
It is possible. Just set up a shared folder in your VMs that points to the same location on your Mac. This will be a location where data file should reside. To set up a shared folder, 1. Go to Virtual Machine->Configure... menu 2. Select "Options" tab and go to "Shared Folders" group. 3. Click "+" button below the shared folders list to start shared folder creation. 4. In "Path" selector choose "Choose a folder..." option and point it to some location on Mac accessible for both users. Let it be Macintosh HD->Users->Shared 5. Click OK and close the VM configuration. Do the same for second virtual machine. Now, in both VMs you can tell Sage Accounts to use a data file in "\\.psf\Shared" location.
