I installed Parallels Tools (build 5624) and I no longer have a functioning desktop in Mandriva. The login chime sounds, and the screen saver comes on after a bit, but that's it. Everything was fine until I installed Parallels Tools.

Is there some kind of work around? For now I will try uninstalling PT and see what happens...

PS - I'm not one of these developer haters that expects you to release an untested product just for the sake of releasing something (that seems to be running rampant around these parts). Unfortunately for us, the "Code Fairy" is hard at work in Santa's workshop. I'm just looking for some "duct tape" to seal the deal until a full-on fix is released.

    Thanks!

Never mind... VMWare did the trick.

Parallels Desktop 4 beta 2 also did this :)
