I have installed Parallels 5.0 on my MacBook Pro, created a Linux virtual machine, and installed CentOS 5.1. The system works, but it prompted me to install Parallels Tools, which I did. The installation process appeared to be successful and the installer instructed me to reboot, which I did. However, Xwindows would not start when I rebooted. In order to be sure that I didn't wipe anything out, I uninstalled Parallels Tools and reverted successfully to my previous configuration. I repeated the install procedure and ended up at the same point - X won't start. I did check that the software versions of glibc, etc were in the supported range. I am at a loss as to what to check next. Any help as to the next step(s) would be welcomed. Thanks, Jeff
Have you tried upgrading to CentOS 5.4? I have an installation of CentOS 5.3 (which I then upgraded to 5.4) which works very well here.
Install Parallel Tools just returns I just installed Centos 5.4 and tried to run the install of the tools. I get the folder open and nothing else. I click on install and it just returns. What is the correct process to install the Parallel Tools package?
