Hi, I've tried everything I can think of and can't get Transporter agent to run! It's an old Windows XP install that I need to keep as a VM to run old programs! The error is: "The procedure entry point CompareStringEx could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll" Anyone any ideas? Cheers, Tim
Yes tried all of that and nothing worked! The machine has never been connected to the internet, so I have installed service pack 3 and then connected it up and downloaded all windows updates that I could! Before I did that the error was slightly different: "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" that changed to "CompareStringEx" after the updates?
I'm having the exact same trouble Tim. Trying to turn my old XP desktop into a VM. I also Installed service pack 3 but like you all that did was change the error from "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" to "CompareStringEx" after the updates. Let me know if you solve it. I'll update here if I manage to work it out.
So I used disk2vhd that worked fine. I can open and use the .vhd file in Virtualbox but it won't open/convert in Parallels!! So I converted the .vhd file to Virtualbox and this will also load up fine in Virtualbox, so I tried importing into Parallels and this at least try's to import but this I get blue Windows stop screen!! So parallels is about as much use as a chocolate teapot if it can't even run XP!!
Great solution! disk2vhd worked for me too, although I couldn't use shadow copy. I'm happy to use VirtualBox. How did you go about about converting your VHDX/VHD file to VDI?
Actually don't worry. I did it using `vboxmanage clonemedium disk path/to/file.vhdx path/to/newfile.vdi --format VDI`. Thanks for your tips Tim!
You're welcome! I gave up with Parallels and am using Virtualbox! I fact I'm thinking money back as Parallels not fit for purpose!!
To transport Windows XP try to use Transporter Agent from Paralells Desktop 13 (https://download.parallels.com/desk...arallelsTransporterAgent-13.3.2-43368-win.exe)
